Shartlesville Browns vs. Lemonheads

Game 1: Tillman v Pomeranz. The Browns struck first with and RBI double from Dozier in the 1st and pushed the lead to 2-0 with a solo shot in the 3rd from Sean Rodriguez. The Lemonheads would cut the lead to 2-1 with a Martinez RBI single in the bottom of the 3rd and that remained the score until the top of the 8th. The Sharts opened the inning with 3 straight singles from Maybin, K. Seager and C. Seager followed by a bases clearing 3B from Dozier. He then came in to score on a Sac Fly from Miggy to make it 6-1 which would be the final score. Tillman got the win and Montgomery worked 3 innings for the save. Browns 6/8/1 Lemonheads 1/9/1

Game 2: Cueto v Odorizzi. The Browns Slugged their way to a win behind a 7 run first inning including the first of two Salvy Perez bombs in the game. The Browns had 5 doubles and 3 HR’s in and 11-3 win. Cueto got the win and Odorizzi took the loss. Browns 11/14/2 Lemonheads 3/8/1

Game 3: Hill vs Conley. Shartlesville was in control the whole way as they used 5 more RBI (and a HR) from Dozier and a solid start from Hill to lock down their first ever 6 game win streak. Browns 8/8/1 Lemonheads 2/6/3

Game 4: Hammel v Straily. This was the craziest game of the series. The Lemonheads struck first with a 2-run 3B from Bradley in the 2nd. The Sharts hit the front with an Abreu solo shot in the 2nd and a 3 run 3rd that included 2 doubles, a homer and a triple. But the Lemonheads returned fire in the a 4th inning that saw them send 11 men to the plate. Martinez led off with a double but Hammel got the next two batters out before the flood gates opened. The next 6 batters each rapped 2-out singles off Hammel and when Tony Watson came into to try to stop the bleeding Martinez also singled for his 2nd hit of the inning. Watson got Lamb to ground out but the Heads now led 8-4. The lead was 9-4 entering the bottom of the 5th when the Browns cut it to 9-7 using a C. Seager 2-run HR and a Perez RBI single. The Heads got more 2-out magic in the top of the 7th as Belt doubled, Realmuto singled followed by a Blackmon 3-bagger. He waltzed into score on a wild pitch to make it 12-7. But the fireworks weren’t over! In the browns 7th C. Seager singled and walks to Abreu and Hairpin loaded the bases for Miggy who worked a walk to drive a run in. A Perez 6-4-3 scored another run followed by a 2-run HR from Turner to make it 12-11 after 7 full. Both teams had multiple chances to add more over the next two innings but neither scored and that was the final Lemonheads 12/20/0 Browns 11/14/0.

Notes:

The Brown slashed .308/.377/.636 in the series with 10 HR, 11 2B, 2 3B and 16 walks.
There was a gun show in the Browns’ usually suspect OF as Hairpin (RF) threw out 2 runners at home and Turner (CF) and Fowler (LF) also each had one for a total of 4 in the series. The infield also turned 4 double plays, all to end innings.
Dozier was the star of the Series for the Browns going 7-17 and driving in 9 runs. Perez wasn’t too far behind going 5-8 while driving in 5 in 2 games.
The Browns 6 game win streak from Game 2 to game 7 was the longest in club history.

The Browns are looking to play during the day either next Saturday or Sunday and can play either home or away.

Machado hits #11 in the 7th to break the tie. After the stretch, Owings and Walker single back-to-back. Realmuto hits a sac fly to left to re-tie at 2-2. Blackmon quickly unties the score with a huge 2-run homer. Lemonheads lead, 4-2.
