Juggs continue streak of going 1-2 in every series except 1 (Steve 3-0 – wish we could play Steve every series lol). So Juggs lost 2 tonight to The Lemonheads. The Juggs only scored a run in the first inning of every game and that’s it, but the two runs instead of one run was enough for a game 3 win.
By the way the Juggs couldn’t figure out how to print more score sheets, so we went ghetto style.

Juggs lucky streak continues into Game 1 of home series vs Eliminators, then it is Eliminated.
Game 1 Sabathia vs Stroman, juggs strike first with a 2 out 2 rbi double by Galvis. Devers begins topp off 3rd with a solo shot , then followed by a Castillo double , the bases are eventually filled with 2 outs but Sabathia gets Zimmerman to ground out . Bottom of 4th K Seager solo shot , juggs lead 3-1 , top of 6th Rosario with his -7 vs lefties takes Sabathia deep for a two run shot . Game even 3-3 . Top off 7 th Harrison lead off HR off reliever Swarzak Eliminators take lead 4-3.Barnhart hits a lead off triple juggs PR for him with Springer, Galvis hits grounder to pitcher for our number one , Springer was playing safe . Hicks walks . With runners on 1st and 3rd one out Brandon brings in Hader to chase out Gennet and his -9 , Smoak PH gets sac fly to CF ties game 4-4 top of 8th Elim strike again against Albers, double by pollock followed by a homer from Devers his second of game . Eliminators lead into bottom of 9th 6-4 . Juggs need lucky streak to continue.Bradley is trying to close it out for Eliminators. Molina strike out , schoop PH for Galvis ground out to first , Hicks walks smoak sinlge of a 12 , votto walk , bases full two outs for judge . A 22 is rolled 5 double 3 runs score juggs take the victory 7-6 . Parker gets the win.
And now our luck dies in games 2 and 3.
Game 2 Chacin vs E Rodriguez, juggs only manage 4 hits and 2 runs from Springer homer. Votto my 5 first baseman makes 2 errors in the game both costly leading to 3 Eliminator runs. Eliminators win 5-2 with 9 hits 2 of which were HRs turned to doubles.
Game 3 Davies (10) vs Teheran (9). Teheran pitches a gem for the win, throws 8 innings of no hit ball, no hitter is finally ended with a bottom of 9th lead off solo shot by Votto. Eliminators have a 3-1 lead at this time. Teheran gets 2 outs but then is pulled when he walks Springer. Betances comes in to get a save by making PH Smoak fly out . One note for this game: Panik goes 2 for 3 with 2 rbi. Eliminators out hit the juggs this series 26 to 13 and out homer the juggs 6-3. juggs turned 3 more into doubles. Juggs now 5-4.

Juggernauts use luck and power to sweep Bastards at Juggs home field.
Game 1 Santana vs Gio Gonzalez, Santana pitched a complete game for his first loss of the season. His 3 WP , 4 Walks to 10 strikeouts and 3 HR allowed ,really hurt his chances for the win . His second WP of the game came in the bottom of the fourth, Lowrie led off the inning with a single advanced to second on the WP and then Healy made a costly error to allow the juggs to get on the scoreboard first . Gennetts two run shot in bottom of fifth for a 3-0 lead . Juggs then add 1 in the sixth , but should have had 3 as Hicks 5 with runners on first and second was changed to a 7 . Top of the 6th bastards close the gap with back to back homers by Stanton and Sanchez. 4-2 now Juggs lead . Juggs add cushion tho in 7th and 8th with solo shots by Votto and Hicks . That’s all the juggs relievers needed to close out the game , Gonzalez went 5.1 innings no runs , only 1 hit and 1 walk with 4 ks for the win . 6-2.
Game 2 . Lance Lynn vs Alex Wood . Bastards score first inning, J Turner lead off single , Castro Fly ball RF Stanton HR turned back to a double , Sanchez walk bases full for Healy who hits into a potential DP but the juggs fielding 2 roll and Healy not having an S allows a FC score , runners first and third two outs and Wood Wiffs Ozuna to end the threat. Juggs bounce back tho with a Judge 2 run shot bottom of first . Wood gives up a run in the 4th and 6th . But the juggs 3 run 4th inning gave Wood all he needed to assure a win with K. Seagers clutch one out bases loaded double scoring 3 . Seager added a rbi double in bottom of 6th for insurance. Juggs win 6-3 Wood went 6 innings for the win Neschek gains a save . The bastards did have an opportunity in the 8th when Madson hit lead off Sanchez, Dee Gordon then in to pinch run , Gordon then is gunned down by Barnhart in a steal attempt.
Game 3 Hamels vs Carasco, hamels is pulled after 2.2 innings even tho he gave up no earned runs, it was Mauers two out error that loads the bases for a Delong 2 run single in bottom of 3rd. Which closes the gap with the Bastards big 3 run inning in the second inning. Carasco gives up a solo shot to Castro then a single to get chased out in the top of the 6th . Bastards lead 4-2 and bring out all the big guns to try and close out the game for a win and not get swept , Which they didn’t have happen to them the entire season last year . The juggs see Buesnitz, Jansen, Warren, Milner , and Wade Davis . Doesn’t look good for Juggs we are shut down completely for 5 innings, bottom off ninth Juggs losing Milner pitching to galvis to lead the inning. Juggs PH for Galvis with Khris (KRUSH ) Davis and Bam 66 homerun .now it’s 4-3 no outs Bastards favor still . Bastards pull Milner because schoop the next batter will be his 7th faced and schoop is a +4/-3 . Bastards bring in Davis to save the game . But , Boom 66 homer by Schoop tie game . Wow Juggs can’t believe it . Next up Smoak with his double ones but -3 vs righties, Juggs go with the power hitter and KABOOM a roll of 11 Homerun Juggs win , Juggs win we can’t believe it back to back to back for the win Incredible. And like I said at the very beginning super lucky Milner was a +41 and Davis +22 in power control
Last night the Speakers finished off the Bastards in true championship form by taking games 4 and 5. My team battled as usual; but, I was up against a steam roller of great rolling. but more importantly, better players.
Brian’s continued Draft success finally paid off as homegrown’s like Rizzo, Machado, Bryant, and even Mookie woke up in game 5 – as they all came through. Also the guys that were filtered in from THE ROLLING MATLOCKS were key in the series – Price, Kinsler and Cespedes.
At least the best drafter of young talent in our league picks last every round next year, but it probably won’t matter as splits are splits and stiffs are stiffs to some. I’m still bitter he said Cody Bellinger’s name the round I was finally taking him last year. Totally my fault, I waited too long. You can’t wait on Brian. He will pounce on the future!!!
I’ll wrap up with a story about him pouncing on a little known guy way, way back in the day by the name of Albert Pujols. A decent player, who oddly enough in this league only ever played for the Speakers. Well a former teammate of his on the Speakers, David ‘Big Papi’ Ortiz, played his final OOTL game last night.
Papi helped the Speakers win a title or two, as well as the Tsunami’s and the Bastards win theirs. Brian and I think that no player has won more in the OOTL than Big Papi. Well Big Papi and I congratulated the new Champ with this card.
It was a perfect ending an OOTL career, World Series title run and another OOTL season. Congrats again Brian!!!
PS – I just remembered my little pep talk email I sent out prior to the playoffs starting. Man I’m stupid. Lol. Just kidding.

So the Speakers and AB’s kicked off the OOTL World Series this afternoon.
Game 1 – Arrieta v Santana
Scoreless into the 4th the Speakers get hot as a Cargo single scores Machado and after a Simmons single the 4th consecutive 2 out hit of the inning, a triple, pushes the Speaker lead to 3-0. In the bottom of the 5th Toles plates two on a bases loaded single scoring Forsythe and Trout to cut lead to 3-2. And once again w/ 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th a double by Agone pushes Gardner across the plate to knot the game at 3-3.
In the eighth Gardner executes a perfect 66-0 2nd column 55-1 for a bunt for a hit, but fails to come around. The game goes extra frames and in the 11th the Speakers get a sac fly RBI of Jansen by Simmons to plate Machado to go ahead 4-3. In the bottom half of the 11th the AB’s coax two BB’s as Trout rolls an error number for the LF’er Cargo. Brian drops both dice and the red one is a 4 but the white one slides off the table. In the reroll Cargo drops a 61 which is F2 – single runner on second Stanton scores on the error and F runner Forsythe scores from 1st for a remarkable 5-4 AB’s win.

Game 2 – Martinez v Scherzer
In the top of the 3rd RIZZO jacks a two run bomb to put the Speakers up 2-0. The game remains that way until the bottom of the 8th. After a leadoff BB by Forsythe, Trout follows with a 66-1 for a 2 run game tying HR. The game once again goes extra innings and with 2 outs in the 11th Cespedes rolls an RP for OF2 Stanton who proceeds to kick the ball to Lewisberry for a 4 base error and 3-2 Speakers lead. In the bottom of the 11th Agone greets Blanton with a lead off HR to tie the game as Joe’s +22 can’t turn it back. 2 outs later Forsythe coaxes back to back RP 2 balls to work a walk. Trout then rolls another 66-1 for a potential walkoff HR but this time Blanton turns it back with the +22. But Forsythe keeps motoring around third with a 46 or higher needed to cut down the game winner…Cargo to Simmons to Posey and Forsythe is out at home as a 63 was dropped!!!! Machado leads off the 12th with a HR off Jansen (+34) – manager Steve had contemplated bringing Bedrosian (+55) in but didn’t…Jansen dropped a 55…the Speakers hit another double in the inning so this move really meant nothing. The AB’s got a lead off BB from Ozuna in the 12th but did little after. Speakers win a classic 4-3 in 12 innings.

Game 3 – Maeda v Price
A two out BB by Papi followed by a 66-1 from Stanton puts the AB’s up 2-0. But one out back to back doubles by Bryant and RIZZO saws that lead in half and after Cespedes Ks Cargo belts a 2 run HR for the early 3-2 Speakers lead. Cargo BB’s leading off the bottom of the 4th then scores on a Machado 2 run HR. Simmons doubles and later scores on a single by Kinsler as Stanton kicks the ball to Front St for a 6-2 Speakers lead. In the 5th a Simmons sac fly pushes it to 7-2 Speakers. Stanton hits a solo HR in the 6th for his 2nd jack of the game. But the Speakers add on in the 8th as Bryant’s 2 out single plates Kinsler to make it 8-3. Gattis does hit a 2 out 2 run HR in the 9th but Price goes the distance for the 8-5 win.

So the series is off and running and is scheduled to resume Wednesday night, once again, on Carol Dr as Riegle Park has been prepped and decorated for Christmas.
A fun fact with this series is that the Speakers and AB franchise have met 2 other times. Once the Speakers won their 3rd title in 4 years finishing off an incredible run. The other was in last years semi finals. Both series won in 5 games by the Speakers. Will history stay the course or will the tide change for the AB’s? I guess we shall see.
But it’s been a crazy and great series so far.
