Juggernauts vs Lymebees

Game 1; Bees get 1 unearned run in 4th Juggernauts score 3 runs in 5th and win 3-1

Game 2; Juggernauts score 3 runs in 1st and 2 more runs in 3rd go downgrade Bumgarner, Bees score 1 run in 1st and 3 runs in 2nd, Bumgarner gets removed after 5 as Bees tie game in bottom of inning and score single runs in 6th and 8th to win 7-5

Game 3; Juggernauts score 2 runs in 6th and Bees tie game in 7th at 2-2, Juggernauts score single runs in 8th and 9th and win 4-2

Lymebees record at 19-14.

Wahoo Nation Rises

Wahoos should change mascot to a leprechaun. Because they sure had the luck of the Irish this series. Game 1 Chacin for Juggs Kluber for Wahoos. Pitchers dual this game . No runs till wahoos score top of 5th off a Peralta error Benintendi stole second after his lead off single to be able to score off the error. With one out . Wahoos up 1-0 . Juggs tie it bottom of 7th . Gennett one out double. Villar PR . Starter Kluber pulled , Perez in to face Dejong, Iglesias PH for Dejong, Villar steals 3rd , Iglesias sac bunts Villar home to tie game 1-1. Bottom of 8th Juggs have a chance at big inning but get nothing. Grichuk PH single, but caught stealing second. Peralta second 0 ends in a single again. Votto k , Muncy Walk Winker ground out ends inning. 9th no score extra innings. Top 10th Oh in his 3rd inning of work gives up a single to PH Eaton who then steals second. Semien up next hits a grounder to pitcher who throws wild to first scoring eaton and semien ends up on second. 2-1 wahoos up no earned runs for them . Bottom of 10th . Braiser brought in to start inning faces Molina, judge PH . Smack 66 homerun +35 can’t turn it back . Game tied again 2-2. Top 11 . Aguilar ground out, Oh walks Arenado for his 3rd walk of game . . Oh done , Hirano in gets Ohtani flyout for second out , but walks Benintendi. Wood brought in to face Eaton’s(-12) Reyes PH 66 homer but wood makes it a double. The two out double scores both runners. Semien walks . Maldonado flyout for 3rd out but damage done .wahoos win 4-2 .  Juggs 8 hits but 2 costly errors. Wahoos only 4 hits no errors.  Game 2 : Cole for Wahoos Juggs throw Carrasco. Carrasco pitches a gem into the 9th with a 2-0 lead . Peralta homered in the first and Votto scored with a lead off walk in 4th Muncy k, Winker single, Hicks k, Gennett single rbi, Dejong HBP loads bases but Molina flyout ends inning. Cole was pulled in bottom of 8th with two outs after walking Muncy. Top of 9th Juggs up 2-0 Carasco upgrades to a 20 first batter altuve homer , Juggs still up 2-1 . Aguilar ground out . One down. Arenado homer tied game . Ohtani 15=11 single. Benintendi double, runners second and third one out , markakis rbi single, Wahoos up 3-2 . Semien two rbi double. Maldonado k marte flyout ends inning wahoos up 5-2 now . Bottom 9th  Iglesias turns back Hicks lead off walk , and Juggs lose any chance for come back . Wahoos win 5-2 on a 5 run 6 hit 9th inning rally. Wahoos nine hits one error. Juggs 3 hits one error.  Game 3: Sabathia starts for Juggs goes a solid 5.1 but won’t get the win . Bauer in for Wahoos and gets smacked giving up 6 ER over 5 IP Juggs score first in bottom of second Winker double,  Smith PR Hicks out Smith to 3rd , Gennett walk , Dejong rbi single, Molina k Grichuk walk bases full , Peralta k ends inning. Juggs again bottom of 4th Hicks flyout, Gennett walk Dejong double, Molina FC scores Gennett. Juggs up 2-0 . Top off 5th Arenado walk Reyes 2 run homer ties game . Bottom of 5th Juggs take lead back. Double Peralta Votto out moves him to 3rd Muncy rolls 65  goes to team wahoos get fielding one , foul flyout to LF . 43 advancement number Peralta tags and goes ,safe at plate . Juggs lead 3-2.  Top of 6th altuve out , Aguilar walk , Sabathia pulled, Chavez in boom Arenado two run blast Wahoos take lead back 4-3 . Bottom of 6 th juggs finally have big inning in series. Hicks double, Gennett HBP Villar PR for Gennett, Dejong HBP fills bases no outs . Bauer pulled . Lefty Perez in 25 1k +44/+52. Springer PH for Molina 66=1 Homer but Perez makes it a two rbi double, grichuk k for first out runners on second and third . Judge PH for Peralta 22=0 , but gets a second column 7 single scores two runs anyways . Votto grounder moves judge to second with 2 outs, Muncy 11=1 homer but Perez stops that one to rbi double. Smith 15=11 singles in Muncy. Hicks who started inning makes 3rd out . Juggs 6 run 6th gives them a 9-4 lead and that’s how it will end in 9 th . Juggs win 9-4 9 hits no errors. Wahoos 6 hits no errors Chavez gets the win and Bradley gets a save for pitching 3 scoreless innings. Juggs now 25-20 with only John left .

Stars and Speakers Celebrate

In honor of Kevin’s birthday, the Speakers hosted the 2nd period series, but traveled for the celebration. The Speakers further added to the celebration by totaling just ten hits … in the entire series!

Game 1 – Didi Gregorius can’t find the handle on Anthony Rendon’s grounder in the bottom of the 1st. David Dahl doubles with Rendon pulling up at 3rd. Javy Baez grounds out to plate the game’s first run … and only run!

Carlos Martinez fires a CG one-hitter, hitting Austin Barnes and walking 2. The no-no remained intact until Didi’s triple with 2 outs in the 7th. Carlos walks Matt Carpenter, but stops Ben Zobrist’s 7 to snuff out the threat.

The Speakers never could add on, getting just 2 more base runners into scoring position and collecting a total of 3 hits. (With Dylan Floro recording the only hit turned back with 2 away in the 6th and Whit Merrifield at 2nd, that means the Speakers rolled only 4 hit numbers in 8 innings.)

Martinez improves to 2-0. Morton suffers the tough loss.

Game 2 – Reynoldo Lopez allows more runs in the first 2 innings (8) than the Speakers score in the series (6). Lopez and friends hold the Stars, but will never, ever come back from 8 down.

Eugenio Suarez homers (11-1) to begin the game. He also makes the last out in the 2nd … and the 3rd. Matt Kemp and Gregorius go deep in the 2nd.

Kemp and Inciarte provide 6 of the Stars’ 15 hits. The Speakers sputter to score 2 with 2 outs in the 9th, but fall, 8-5. Lopez can’t repeat his stellar performance against The Plague and falls to 2-3 with a 5.68 ERA.

Game 3 – Another no-hitter alert … except this one is official! Jacob deGrom walks Anthony Rizzo to start the bottom of the 2nd. That’s the Speakers’ only base runner, never advancing a base.

The Speakers did roll 8 hits, but never rolled better than a 55 against the Grade 20 right hander. If anyone would ever get no-hit in OOTL, it would be the Speakers.

Miles Mikolas surrenders just 5 hits, but Joc Pederson leaves the yard in the 6th as the Stars win, 2-0. Mikolas is now 4-4 with a 2.97 ERA.

The Stars are now 5-1 against the Speakers this season. Happy Birthday, Kevin!

2019 Second Period

Speakers Avoid The Plague

Game 1 – The Speakers use a 2-out Kenta Maeda wild pitch immediately followed by a James McCann passed ball to score Mookie Betts in the top of the 1st. Anthony Rizzo doubles the lead by connecting (2) to lead off the 4th.

A 2-out Betts walk precedes a pair of singles in the 5th. Manny Machado’s 9 plates Betts for a 3-0 lead. A pair of 2-run homers in the 8th by Javy Baez (5) and Juan Soto (3) put the opener out of reach, 7-0.

Reynoldo Lopez (2-2) goes the distance, allowing a Michael Brantley RP single in the 1st and a Paul Goldschmidt 7 to lead off the 8th. Lopez records just takeaways, facing only 31 batters.

Game 2 – Baez clubs #6 to lead off the 2nd. Brandon Nimmo answers in the bottom half with a 2-run double to put The Plague on the scoreboard for the first time in the series.

The Speakers manufacture the tying run in the 3rd on 2 walks, a Kyle Gibson wild pitch, and a Mitch Haniger sac fly. Nimmo loses a walk and a home run, but doubles home Max Kepler in the 4th for a 3-2 home team advantage.

The Plague holds the Speakers to a Haniger double (turned back by Gibson’s +14) the rest of the way. Goldy’s 2-run blast in the 8th clinches a 7-2 series-tying win, the first time The Plague have defeated the Speakers this season.

Mike Mikolas surrenders 10 hits in 6.2 IP and falls to 4-3.

Game 3 – Machado’s first error and Francisco Lindor’s 2-out RBI single give The Plague the early lead.

The Speakers answer immediately as Lindor boots a ball to begin the 2nd. Luis Severino uncorks a wild pitch, Cody Bellinger doubles home Baez for a 1-1 tie. However, the Speakers aren’t done.

Severino walks Omar Narvaez and Juan Soto with 1 away. Betts strokes a 2-run single (10), David Dahl singles home another (7), and with 2 outs, Rizzo clears the bases with a 2-run double. Speakers lead, 6-1.

Ross Stripling retires the next 7 hitters, but Lindor triples in the 4th and Kevin Kiermaier lofts a sac fly to right. The Speakers continue to add on as Dahl deposits a 2-run HR (2) over the fence in right in the 6th.

After stranding a pair in the 5th, The Plague take advantage of an Andrelton Simmons error with 1 out in the 6th. Kiermaier follows with a 2-run blast to match Dahl.

The Speakers pen squashes any hope of a comeback. Speakers win, 8-4, as Edwin Diaz sets down The Plague in order. Ross Stripling improves to 2-1. Speakers take the series, 2-1, and climb back to .500, 15-15.

Elims Fend Off Juggs

Eliminators win 2 of 3 for second time this season. Game one : Juggs Wood will face off against Buehler. Elims score first with a two out two run homer by Zimmerman top of 1st. Bottom of 1st Juggs strike back smith lead off ground out , Peralta walk , Votto single, Muncy single loads bases. Voit hits one of his 3 1’s Buehler can’t turn it back at +22. Grand Slam . Juggs up 4-2 . Top 5th Alfaro gets lead off homer , profar then doubles , but is left stranded by top 3 of order. Bottom of 5th Molina lead off single, Villar PR steals second. Smith k, Peralta k , Votto rbi double scores Villar. Muncy rbi single scores Votto. Voit k to end inning. Juggs up 6-3 . Top 6th Zimmerman lead off double can’t score . Top 7th Elims have bases loaded with one out after 2nd reliever OH Hits meadows.Hirano in to face Freeman. Freeman hits into a double play. Top of 8th Kris Davis PH walk to start inning Castellonas single Davis to second, no outs . Chavez in to face Escobar. Flyout Center. Correa then hits into a double play ends inning. Bottom of 8th Smith in for Buehler. Smith strikes out the side . Muncy Voit Hicks . Top of 9th Alfaro gets his second lead off solo homer of game score 6-4 still Juggs favor . Chavez will get the next 3 batters and a save . Juggs win 6-4 on 7 hits . Elims had 8 hits both teams one error.

Game 2 : Sale will get a complete game win with 16 k no ER 1BB 6 hits only one was extra base hit  , double. Elims win 9-1 . Juggs only run came in bottom of 9th judge scores when Correa makes a two base error. Gonzales gets a complete game also 11 hits 9 ER 4 HR 3 BB 7 K and 40 BF for 5 games rest . He also hit Profar who ends up scoring. Freeman had an rbi triple,Escobar a two run homer . Harper a two run homer after we stopped his walk . Correa a two run homer . And meadows a two run homer . Stats building game for Elims. Game :3 minor for Juggs E. Rodriguez for Elims. Top of 4th Elims strike first Escobar one out walk , Gomes gifted homer ,Acuna two out double, segura rbi single, Freeman walk , Zimmerman ground out ends inning. Elims up 3-0. Juggs answer back lead off single smith rbi double Iglesias, two run homer Voit . Tied 3-3 . Top 5th Castellanos lead off homer , meadows single , then steals second, Escobar single. Minor pulled , Chavez in , Gomes k  Profar sac fly  rbi acuna fly out ends inning. Elims up 5-3 . Bottom 5th Donaldson on by Profar error, Villar PR steals second then left stranded. Top of 6th Segura lead off double on base for 4th straight AB . Two outs Castellanos two out Rbi double. Elims up 6-3 . Bottom 6th Voit one out solo shot . Elims still up 6-4 . And that is how it will end . Eliminators win 6-4 with 12 hits one error to Juggs 4 hits and 1 error. E Rodriguez gets the win with 5 Innings pitched . Series note in game two Villar got caught stealing second for first time this season the D34 lost 2 points +1 catcher +1 pitcher. 62 or under safe , Elims roll 64 . Villar was caught one other time trying to steal home .21 SB 2 CS . Still has 9 attempts left . Juggs record now 24-18 only Mike and John to play yet .
