Lymebees vs. Shartlesville Browns

Game 1; Arrieta vs Kershaw; Bees get off to a quick start with 1 out in the first. Travis walks, Hosmer triples in the first run, Braun singles to score Hosmer and Franco follows with a 2-run HR for a 4-run 1st inning. Browns score in the 3rd on a one-out single by Castro followed by a Dyson triple. Bees chase Kershaw in the 7th. After the first two batters strike out, Beltre singles, Pederson doubles and Gonzalez chases in two on a Castro throwing error. Browns get an unearned run in the 7th. Bees get a single run in the 8th as Bees win 7-2.

Game 2; Gray vs Gallardo; Bees get 2 runs in the 2nd, single runs in the 5th and 6th, and 2 runs in the 9th as Gray pitches a complete game 3-hitter. Bees win 6-0.

Game 3; Strasburg vs McCullers; Browns get a solo HR by Perez in the 2nd. Bees come back in the 2nd with a leadoff HR (gift) by Upton and score another run in the inning. Beltre hits a solo HR in the 4th. Bees finish scoring with 4 runs in the 6th. Bees win 7-1.

Game 4; Shields vs Syndergaard; Bees score twice in the 1st. Browns get a leadoff single by Herrera in the 3rd followed by a run-scoring double by Castro, but Syndergaard would get out of the inning and pitch a complete game giving up 4 hits. Bees would score in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th innings as Bees complete the 4-game sweep with a 10-1 win.

Lymebees vs. The Plague

Game 1; Gibson vs Arrieta; Bees get their first two batters on and score on a double play by Lind. The Plague get runners in first and second innings on errors but nothing else off Arrieta until the 5th when Arrieta gives up a one-out HB followed by FC. Then Lemahieu gets a double with Kiermaier running to tie the game. Span gets a run-scoring single, Kipnis single and Goldschmidt hits a 3-run HR for a 5-1 Plague lead. Each team would add one run in the 9th as The Plague win 6-2.
Game 2; Kazmir vs Bumgarner; Bees would get a 2-run HR by Pederson in the 2nd inning followed with a 5-run 3rd with Pederson hitting another 2-run HR. The Plague get 3 runs in the 4th. Bees come back in the 5th with a Beltre 2-run HR. The Plague get solo HR’s by Hunter in 5th and Lawrie in 9th and Bees win 10-5.
Game 3; McCullers vs Estrada; The Plague score in the 3rd on a 2-out triple by LeMahieu. The Bees would tie the game up in the top of the 9th on a walk to Lind. Braun pinch runs and steals second, Cano hits a single to tie the game. Bees bring in Kela to start the 11th inning, and in the bottom of the 19th, he gives up a leadoff single to Cain, who steals second, Goldschmidt single and Brantley makes contact to end the game in a 2-1 The Plague win.
Game 4; Syndergaard vs Garcia; The Plague get a 2-run HR by Cain in the 1st. Bees get 1 run in the 2nd and plate 2 runs in the 7th. Bottom of the 7th, Givens comes in and gives up a game-tying double to Kipnis, game winning single by Cain, with a Goldschmidt 2-run HR to end it as The Plague win 6-3.
Lymebees record at 4-4 and are scheduled to play the Browns this Thursday night.

Shooting Stars II vs. Lymebees

Game 1; Arrieta vs Fiers; Bees manage a first inning run with two outs and runners on first and second when Cano hits a single. Bees get a leadoff single by Hosmer in the third followed by a 2-run HR by Lind. Stars would get their only run in the third with two out. Escobar singles and Carpenter hits a double with Escobar running to score. Arrieta would pitch into the 8th and with two outs Bees bring in Givens to finish the game. Stars would get a two-out double in ninth but Givens would strike out final two batters of game as Bees win 3-1.
Game 2; Bumgarner vs deGrom; Bees score two runs in the first with one coming in on a WP; another in the 3rd, 3 more in the 5th and a solo HR by Tulowitzki in the 8th. Bumgarner would pitch a complete game shutout giving up just 2 hits as Bees win 7-0.
Game 3; Keuchel vs Gray; Bees would score in the second inning on a leadoff single by Braun and SB. With one out Beltre would single him in. Stars come back in the 5th with Peralta hitting a one-out single. Escobar, up with two outs, would get HBP followed by a Carpenter 2-run triple for Stars 2 runs. Keuchel would get pulled in the bottom of the 5th. After the first two batters get out, Norris singles and Yelich walks. Lowe would come in to get the third out and the Stars pen shuts down the Bees. Stars win 2-1.
Game 4: Lackey vs Hendricks; Bees would win this with a one-out solo HR by Yelich in the 7th inning being the only scoring. Lackey would get pulled in the bottom of the 5th after giving up a leadoff single. The Stars bullpen does a good job except for a solo HR. Hendricks would get pulled after going 5 inning and giving up 5 hits, most notably in the 3rd inning Peralta would lead off with a single and Inciarte follows with a double to put runners on 2nd and 3rd base. But Alonso hits into a line drive double play and Hendricks would get out of the inning. Lymebees shut down the Stars in the final 4 innings and Bees win 1-0.
Bees pitching is the story of the series as starters give up 3 runs and relievers don’t give anything.

Championship Series – #2 Eliminators vs. #1 Lymebees

Game 1; Sale vs Hendricks; Eliminators score Lucroy in the first inning on a 2-out double by McCutchen. Bees get a 3-run HR by Tulowitzki in the 3rd. Eliminators get a lead-off solo HR by Lucroy in the 4th. Bees get a solo HR by Beltre to lead off the 6th. Bees bullpen goes 5.2 innings to preserve the Bees 4-2 win.

Game 2; Ventura vs Bumgarner; Eliminators score 1 run in the 1st and another run in the top of the 3rd. Bees get a bases-loaded triple by Lind to take a 3-2 lead. Bees would add 2 runs in the 4th and 1 run in the 5th. Bees bullpen would hold the Eliminators scoreless in 5.1 innings as Bees win 6-2.

Game 3; Arrieta vs Lester; Bees get an unearned run in the 3rd. Eliminators get solo HRs by Jones and Lucroy in the bottom of the 3rd. Bees get 4 runs in the 4th with Upton hitting a 3-run HR. Eliminators get 2 runs back in the 5th. Bees get a 2-run triple in the 9th by Adams and the bullpen holds the Eliminators scoreless for 4.2 innings for a 7-4 Bees win and 3-0 series lead.

Game 4; Gray vs Pineda; Eliminators get the only run of the game in 4th on a lead-off walk to Pollock. Lucroy gets out, McCutchen walks, Pollock steals 3rd, and Martinez singles him in. Pineda goes 8.1, Doolittle gets the 2nd out in the 9th, and Morris gets the final out as Eliminators win 1-0.

Game 5; Sale vs Hendricks; Eliminators get 2 runs in the 4th and 1 run in the 5th. Sale goes 7.1 scoreless, but with a Yelich one-out single in the 8th, is pulled. O’Day faces Tulowitzki, who he walks, and Beltre ends the inning with a DP. O’Day pitches a 1-2-3 9th and the Eliminators win 3-0, as the Bees are shut out for the second straight game.

Game 6; Bumgarner vs Wilhelmsen; Eliminators score 1 run in the 1st. Bees tie the game in the 2nd. Bees get a 1-out solo HR by Cano in the 7th. With 1 out in the bottom of the 9th, Mauer pinch hits and gets a double to score Lucroy from 2nd base. With the game still tied in the top of the 11th, Upton gets on 1st on an error by Reyes. Avila follows with a single. Cano loads the bases with another infield hit. With the infield in, Yelich gets a 2-run single past Kinsler at secondbase followed by Lind hitting an inning ending double play. Bees use Gregerson, Leone and Crockett to get the last 3 outs in the bottom of the inning to finally win the game and the series, 4-2.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all.

Bees score 14 runs with 2 outs in the series; 13 runs with 2 outs in the first 3 games of the series; Avila plays 3 games and goes 1 for 7 with the only hit being in the 11th inning of game 6. He does get 5 walks and is on base twice in each game played.

Cano gets a hit in every game, goes 11 for 24 in the series, and 4 for 6 with a HR in the final game.

Game 1; Fister vs Arrieta; Arrieta gives up 8 runs in the first with the first 8 batters getting on base and scoring, for a total of 2 walks, 4 singles, 3 doubles and a triple — all in the first half inning. Bees would score one run in the 3rd. Stars add 2 more runs in the 5th. Stars get a 2-run HR in the 7th to end the scoring and go on to win 12-1. Fister pitches a complete game. Arrieta goes 6 inning and Leone pitches the remainder of the game for the Bees.

Game 2; Lynn vs Gray; Bees score twice in the bottom of the 1st. Bees get 2 more runs in the 3rd on a one-out triple by Adams. Bees score a single run in the 4th. Stars would get their only run in the 5th on a double by Cervelli. Bees finish scoring with 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th and win 8-1 to tie series.

Game 3; Hendricks vs deGrom; Bees score one run in the 3rd on a two-out single by Lind. Stars tie the game in the bottom of the inning on back-to-back doubles by Kemp and Pedroia to lead off the inning. Bees get a 2-run HR by Upton in the 4th and 3 more runs in the 7th as Bees win 6-1 and go up 2-1 in the series.

Game 4; Bumgarner vs Fiers; Stars score a two-out unearned run in the 2nd inning on a single by Kemp. Bees tie the score in the 4th inning on a lead-off HR by Nieuwenhuis, Bees get a solo lead-off HR by Beltre in the 7th. Stars tie the game in the 8th. Bees get the go-ahead run in the 9th on a Yelich single and stolen base and Avila RBI single. Stars would load the bases with one out, but do not score as Bees win 3-2 and go up in the series to 3-1.

Game 5; Fister vs Arrieta; Bees would strike first with a solo HR by Adams in the 4the. Bees add 2 more runs in the 5th. Stars get a 2-run HR by Negron in the 6th and Frazier hits a solo HR in the 6th to tie the game. With the score tied at 3 in the bottom of the 12th, Cano would lead off with a single. Tulowitzki flies out. Reddick hits into a fielder’s choice and is on first as the Bees hit-and-run with Beltre, who doubles in the game and series winner. Bees win 4-3 and take the series 4-1 in 5 games.
